The Importance of Menstrual Cramp Explained
Many women get to a point in their lives when they just think that their own bodies are rebelling against them. Some women only start to really suffer with menstrual cramps (the bane of many women) when they enter their menopause. Unfortunately, there are other groups of women who suffer with PCOS (the most common hormonal disorder amongst women of reproductive age), or endometriosis and the stomach cramps are even more uncomfortable. If you were to ask a woman who suffers from this complaint they would tell you just how much they dread that time each month.

While a number of remedies available claim they will give menstrual cramp relief, it is the reliability of these drugs that often causes a problem. Pain relief pills seem to be the most prescribed option amongst women. Drug manufacturers were quick to formulate a remedy which most people know as Pamprin. Many women won’t take any form of pain relief but if you are one of those women maybe it is time you started to think about it.
After all, if your stomach cramps are getting you down every month then what do you have to lose? Even worse still, the cramps are often combined with bloating and sometimes, queasiness as well. After a number of years of suffering I’d had enough and decided to find a menstrual cramp relief remedy to claim those days back every month. Of course when the complaint is irregular it can be even more annoying because there were some cycles where I felt almost no discomfort at all!
A more natural method is to use a heat pad and position it on the tummy or back (it does vary), which can bring some relief. You may not have tried this for your problem before but it is well worth giving it a go particularly if you haven’t had any success with pills. However, if you endure more painful menstrual cramps you may need to try something stronger. The problem worsens when every month regular as clockwork you have to call in sick from your job.
Of course you could try speaking to your doctor to see what thoughts he or she has on menstrual cramp relief remedies, especially if it causing you problems in addition to pain. They may have options you have not considered, so if you aren’t currently on the Pill, this may be something you want to try because for many women, being on the Pill reduces or even eliminates their cramps. If you are trying to get pregnant this will obviously be out of the question but this is not the only remedy your doctor will discuss with you. It may take some trial and error but you will find a remedy eventually.
